Synopsis
In today’s generation, many young people find themselves grappling with confusion and constantly shifting aspirations in life. This phenomenon is largely driven by the rapid changes in society, exacerbated by the relentless march of technology and the allure of worldly distractions.
“MITHI” is a comedy-musical that explores the sensitive topics of teenage pregnancy and abortion. It showcases compositions and musical arrangements by none other than our National Artist for Music, Maestro Ryan Cayabyab. The story revolves around a young woman named Chesybell, who is adrift in her studies, life, and matters of the heart due to the absence of parental guidance. As an orphan, she seeks solace in the care of her relatives, but her path takes an unexpected turn when fate introduces her to three young men who further complicate her thoughts and life. Adding an enigmatic twist to her journey is another man, the catalyst behind her pregnancy.
Ultimately, though uncertain about the challenges that tomorrow may bring, Chesybell is resolute in her aspiration to provide a better life for her child.
