I’m Lorenzo Nilo, the band leader and pianist, and for the past 7 years, I had the privilege of serving as the tenor section leader for GANAP. My journey with GANAP began during my college years, and it has been a transformative experience.
Since I was a child, I nurtured a dream of becoming a professional musician, envisioning myself sharing the enchantment of music with diverse audiences, whether on stage or through the lens of a television camera. Despite my ardent desire to pursue a music course in college, practical circumstances led me down a different academic path, and I embarked on a degree that I was capable of. It was during this time that GANAP entered my life, offering me the opportunity to inch closer to my dream of becoming a professional musician.
GANAP has not only honed my musical skills but also revolutionized the way I create and interpret music. It has taught me that music is a universal language that transcends barriers and allows for deep connections with others. Through our performances, we have the power to resonate with the emotions and experiences of our audience. One of the most indelible memories etched in my journey with GANAP was the “US Tour.” Despite the myriad challenges we faced, including unforgiving weather conditions and an exhausting performance schedule, we persisted with the unwavering belief that “the show must go on.” This experience was a testament to our dedication to our craft and our commitment to our audience. It served as a reminder that the world of music is a place where passion and perseverance conquer all obstacles.
