I’m Melody Reyes, I currently work as a Data Research Specialist at Reed Elsevier Philippines and am happily married to Jan Michael Romano, who is also a member of GANAP.
Choosing to be a part of GANAP was an easy decision for me because it complements my life’s passion—performing. My journey in the world of performing arts began during my elementary years when I joined the Drum and Lyre group. This love for performance continued through high school, where I added dance and choir to my repertoire. As I transitioned to college, I found my artistic home with GANAP Performing Arts Association Inc.
Reflecting on my journey, it’s remarkable how GANAP has transformed my life. It goes beyond the stage and has instilled in me fundamental values such as basic etiquette and professionalism. One vivid memory that stands out is my first major role as Merl in one of our musicals, “Pintig.” I was elated to be entrusted with this role, but challenges inevitably arose. It’s in these moments that one’s character is tested, as we are tasked with proving ourselves “worthy of the role.” During that time, I had numerous realizations and found the motivation to continually strive for improvement. This drive is what keeps me with the same group to this day. GANAP not only nurtures my artistic abilities but also pushes me to become the best version of myself, both on and off the stage. I’m immensely grateful for the growth and fulfillment that GANAP has brought into my life, and I look forward to the continued journey of self-improvement and artistic expression with this extraordinary group.
